Muscat: The Ministry of Health in the Sultanate of Oman recently achieved a milestone by through the renewal of the Quality Assurance Centre (QAC)’s designation as a “World Health Organization’s Collaborating Centre for Quality and Patient Safety Training in the Eastern Mediterranean Region”. The QAC's affiliation to the international organisation has been renewed for the third 4-year term, from 2026 to 2030.
The renewal of the Quality Assurance Centre’s partnership with the WHO has been the outcome of the Centre’s fulfilment of all technical and administrative standards approved by the WHO.
The Quality Assurance Centre in Oman is deemed the first institution of kind to be awarded the designation of “WHO Collaborating Centre for Quality and Patient Safety Training in the Eastern Mediterranean Region”.
This renewal affirms international confidence in Omani national personnel and underlines the Oman-WHO strategic partnership aimed at enhancing healthcare systems in line with the Region’s plans and priorities vis-à-vis capacity building and transfer of WHO’s expertise to member states. -ONA
